Hein and Melissa met in the bush whilst on a walking safari. As both Founders share a passion for nature and being outdoors, the duo took to the idea of operating their very own company whereby they could share the wilderness and experiences with others.
Hein is highly qualified as a Trails guide and his knowledge of the bush and birds is rivalled by many. Walking amongst large herds of buffalo on the Limpopo floodplains in search of Racket-tailed rollers in the magical Fever tree forest, whilst admiring massive elephants dwarfed by baobabs is still one of his most cherished moments of his career. Hein has trained guides in Rwanda, whilst working at a high-end lodge and in the far Northern region of the Kruger, known commonly as Pafuri.
Melissa has worked in the Tourism industry abroad and in Southern Africa hosting tours across both continents and ensuring experiences are shared by all. Having spent many weekends in Hoedspruit, where her folks owned a farm - Melissa has had many encounters and assisted in raising many wild animals. Conserving the natural world is what drives her to share these experiences, so that others may have the same.
Their approach to a go slow safari is one in which every bit of nature can be admired.
"What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected"
- Chief Seattle
